Description
A clear night gives way to a beautiful and special perigee full moon shot through the trees in New Canaan, Connecticut, USA.
A perigee moon is when the moon is at a point when its closest to the Earth thus making it appear 14% bigger and 30% brighter. Perigee moons usually happen about once a month.
This photo was taken Saturday, March 19, 2011 when the moon came closer to the Earth than it has been in about 20 years making it an unusual event.
